What Does 100% Halal Actually Mean?

You will see “100% Halal” on our signage and menu — but what does it actually mean?

The basics

“Halal” is an Arabic word meaning permissible. For food, it describes meat that has been sourced and prepared according to Islamic dietary law:

• The animal must be healthy at the time of slaughter
• A blessing is recited during the process
• The meat is fully drained of blood
